The Pathways Borrower Login experience introduces a Single Sign-On authentication system designed to enhance your customers' journey through Pathways Property Pages and Come Home. The two-pronged approach to authentication, is designed to ensure that creating a login is never a barrier to customer engagement.
How It Works: Two Authentication Workflows
Workflow #1: Email Digest Authentication (Automatic Login)
The most seamless authentication experience occurs when borrowers interact with your initial digest email. Here's how it works:
Initial Access When you send a borrower their initial "Welcome" digest email and they click the call-to-action buttons to visit their Property Page, authentication happens automatically behind the scenes.
Enhanced Functionality Without Barriers Once authenticated through the email link, borrowers can immediately:
- Navigate their personalized Property Page
- Click through to pre-qualification links and other loan officer CTAs
- Access the Come Home search site
- Favorite or star properties they're interested in
All of these actions happen with zero additional steps required from the borrower.
Token Expiration and Device Considerations There are two important factors to keep in mind with this automatic authentication:
- Time limit: After seven days, the token expires and borrowers will be prompted to create a login to continue accessing enhanced features.
- Device-specific access: The automatic authentication token is tied to the specific device used to click the original email link. If borrowers access their Property Page or Come Home from a different device (such as switching from desktop to mobile), they'll need to log in manually on that new device.
Workflow #2: Shared Property Page Authentication (Manual Login)
When borrowers receive their Property Page through channels other than the "Welcome" digest email, such as text messages, separate emails, or Bonzo campaigns using the "Property Page URL" merge tag, the authentication experience works differently.
Public Viewing Access Borrowers can immediately view and explore:
- All publicly available Property Page content
- The Come Home search site
- Property listings and market information
No login is required for this initial exploration phase.
Authentication Trigger Points Authentication is only required when borrowers attempt to take action, such as:
- Clicking pre-qualification links on Property Page
- Favoriting properties in Come Home
- Clicking pre-qualification links in Come Home
- Clicking on "Join or Login" in Come Home
When borrowers attempt any of these actions, they'll see a simple prompt to create their login before proceeding. If clicking on a pre-qualification link, the borrower will be redirected to the webpage after login.
The new Pathways Borrower Login experience delivers significant value to your customers while maintaining ease of access. By requiring authentication only when borrowers want to engage with personalized features, we've eliminated unnecessary barriers while still enabling the customized experience today's homebuyers expect.
Beyond the borrower benefits, these login workflows unlock powerful engagement tracking capabilities for you as the loan officer. Borrowers activity will be tracked regardless of which login workflow they experience. Instead of guessing what your borrowers are interested in, you'll have concrete engagement data that helps you serve them better and close more loans.
